3D Internet Poker Room, PKR.com

PKR.com, the first 3D internet poker room.

Just heard about it last night and tried it out. It indeed feels like playing live poker with real person, with the table, chips, cards, speeches, expressions (though they’re triggered) and even chip trick, pretty cool.

Just that it’s rather slow for an internet poker. When you’re playing things online, you want everything to be fast and have minimal waiting time. Look at how fast a FIFA WorldCup computer game is compared to a real life football game. And without multi-tabling capability, I think the site is only nice for newbies who are still learning the game, not for serious real money players.

I don’t see how the site is going to make money if it’s not getting many real money players, and for now, if I’m not mistaken, they’re not allowing the Americans to play for real money there. And as we all know, the Americans are the largest poker playing group.

If you’re learning poker (hint to my EE4214 group members), it is a good site to check out. But for serious poker players, it’s too slow and too heavy on graphics.

Hmm, this blog probably would need a poker category soon.
