I think my Final Year Project is…

… screwed.

I don’t know what I am doing.
I don’t know what my objective is.
I don’t know what my hypothesis is.
I don’t know what I am supposed to achieve.
I don’t know what I am supposed to prove or disprove.

To be frank, I think I have just screwed myself by choosing a topic I do not have much basic knowledge of.

Has anyone actually failed the FYP after a whole year of effort? If not, I could be the first.

  6. Don’t worry man, many people had the similar issue with their FYP last year, including myself. The scope and objectives of my FYP were only finalised in Feb. It’s still doable.

  7. Don’t know about engineering, but my team felt the same way about our FYP this time last year too. Even our mentor was worried that we would fail. In the end we scored a rather decent pass.

    It seems like it’s a common thing among the FYP students. I’m meeting my supervisor tomorrow and hope my issues clear up a bit.

  11. Bro, I am not a good student like you are. But I can still managed to get a B for my FYP. Not sure if that helps.

    After 6 months, the only thing i know is the concept of the project, the rest are copied and paraphrase from reference books

  12. same here nesohu! i got a B+! and i actually got honest and told the examiner that my programming skill is not as good as i envisioned to be so tat’s onli so much i can produce. he’s a nice professor and he just smiled. and i thought i was screwed…

  13. jia you =) eh maybe u can make ping.sg into ur FYP? =P or something along that line… =P oh n how bout tutoring program something.. Somehow I found a list of FYP topics and it lists a lot of Tutoring Program for _insert any subjects here_…
