Working Mobile
This is my first time working from out of my room(office).
I’m in Starbucks in KL now. Paid RM5 for unlimited wifi for all day from Maxis. I got signals from 3 different providers here, Maxis, TIME, and TM. TIME is supposed to be free, but it seems like it’s not working when I tried to connect to it. I had a feeling I might be too early, as now I’m seeing quite a few people using laptops here surfing. They might be using Maxis/TM, but highly possible that they’re using TIME.
RM5 per day is rather costly as compared to Singnet’s SGD10/month for unlimited wifi access. However, I’m very satisfied with the speed I’m getting over here. It’s as good as NUS’ connection. I’m cuerrently streaming online radio at 128kbps and doing some work. Kind of nice to work outside once in awhile to see something different from the constant view in my room.
Did I say it’s as good as NUS’ connection? Oh yeah I’ve just remembered that I’m currently using NUS’ connection, connecting to NUS via VPN for security reasons. Anyway, at least it is good enough to maintain a steady connection to and from NUS. It’s a rather busy place here, but I’m drowning in the rock music playing from my headphones.
Have a nice day. I’m kind of sleepy though, not used to getting up at 7am in the morning. I believe I haven’t got up at 7am for the past year or so. I have never attended 8am classes.
